Feds raid Meriden property company’s offices

Agents from the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service have raided the offices of a property development company in Meriden, The Associated Press reports.

The agents were seen leaving the building that houses the headquarters of Carabetta Enterprises Inc. with computer equipment and documents.

Carabetta works extensively with federal agencies on renovating and developing housing around Connecticut. Its website says Carabetta has financed over $1 billion through state and federal government programs.

A spokesman for the Connecticut U.S. attorney’s office, Tom Carson, declined to comment on the reason for the raid. He said no one has been arrested and the warrant is sealed.
