Feds give $350K more to homeless CT vets

Homeless veterans in Hartford, Middlesex and New Haven counties are getting $350,000 in federal aid to put them into affordable housing, authorities say.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a $349,389 grant to Hartford-based Community Renewal Team Inc. to implement the program, according to Congressman John B. Larson and U.S. Senators Joseph Lieberman and Richard Blumenthal.

In June, the agency appropriated $150,534 for housing vouchers for 15 homeless New London vets.
