Citing surging e-commerce demand, shipping giant FedEx Ground said it hopes to hire 600 package handlers at local facilities.
The roles are mostly part-time — two to four hours per day — and FedEx is offering additional hourly wage incentives during the month of May to draw more workers for pre-load and weekend shifts. Recent job postings for the company’s Windsor, South Windsor and Middletown facilities list pay rates ranging from $17.75 per hour to $23.75 per hour, including those incentives.
“Many of these positions may become full-time job opportunities as the company continues to expand capacity in response to ongoing customer demand,” FedEx said.
FedEx Ground’s total employee headcount in the region wasn’t immediately available.
