The Connecticut Convention Center will be the stage for two major February trade shows – the Northeast Fishing & Hunting Expo and the Connecticut Flower & Garden Show – that are expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors to downtown Hartford.
The 14th annual fishing and hunting expo runs from Feb. 18 to 20 at the convention center, 100 Columbus Blvd.
It will feature hundreds of booths showcasing the latest products for outdoor enthusiasts. It also will offer seminars led by ESPN’s “Mad Fisherman” Charlie Moore and other expert anglers and hunters, plus a host of hands-on activities for an estimated 15,000 visitors.
Less than a week after the fishing-hunting expo ends, the 30th annual flower and garden show starts its four -day run on Feb. 24 that could attract about 37,000 guests.
The flower show will feature 25 gardens — include naturalistic, low maintenance and organic gardens — covering three acres created by professional landscape designers and nonprofit organizations.
Â
Along with displays, seminars and sales of garden products and supplies, the University of Connecticut Co-op will be conducting free soil samples for visitors.
Â
North East Expos Inc. in Granby produces both shows.
