FAVARH

Mission: FAVARH has been helping children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve their personal best since 1958.

Background: FAVARH was founded in 1958 as the Farmington Valley Association for Retarded and Handicapped by eight local families who wanted a better life for their children with intellectual disabilities. We provide services to more than 300 individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families throughout the Farmington Valley and beyond. FAVARH provides employment, day, and residential support as well as recreational opportunities and family support. FAVARH programs are funded by state contracts, local fundraisers, private donations, community organizations and local businesses.

Major Fundraiser: Beatlemania Live on Nov. 20 and the 14th annual golf tournament on June 1, 2010
