Connecticut Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. will formally announce later today his GOP candidacy for Secretary of the State.
The Wallingford lawyer, who has been a commissioner since December 2006, is scheduled to announce at 3 p.m. at the site of a Wallingford business at 108 North Plains Industrial Road, his campaign office said.
Sitting Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz, a Democrat, has declared her run for attorney general, succeeding U.S. senate Democratic candidate Richard Blumenthal.
