Farmington’s iTech Solutions Inc., a national IT, healthcare, clinical/scientific and engineering staffing and consulting firm, has been acquired by a global technology and business consulting firm based in Virginia.

Ampcus Inc., of Chantilly, Va., says it recently completed the takeover of iTech to expand its market reach and raise its profile as one of the country’s top staff augmentation companies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ampcus said iTech will continue operating in Farmington at 20 Stanford Dr. under its current brand.
A news release announcing the acquisition also indicated that iTech CEO Kay Lukas will be retiring from the firm. It was not immediately clear Wednesday whether Ampcus would fill the vacancy.
The Farmington business was founded in 1995 by Lukas’ husband, Chris, who was at the time it’s only employee while working as an independent consultant for The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
Kay Lukas began to grow iTech when she joined the firm in 2000. That year she landed the firm’s first major client, UnitedHealth Group.
Today, iTech also has offices in Springfield, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North Carolina, Minnesota and Colorado.
The firm had nearly 200 full-time employees when it was named as one of Hartford Business Journal’s Family Business Awards winners in 2017.
