A Farmington-based precision manufacturer has acquired a New Jersey company and plans to move its production to Connecticut.
Connecticut Spring & Stamping (CSS), which is headquartered at 48 Spring Lane, purchased Tryco Tool & Manufacturing effective February 1, 2024.
CSS, a family-owned company started more than 85 years ago, produces metal springs, progressive stampings, fine-blanked stampings, machined components and assemblies for numerous industries.
Tryco is a precision stamping house that focuses on complex progressive dies and production for government, commercial, electrical and aerospace markets.
Tryco, also a family-owned business, has been based in Orange, New Jersey for more than 65 years.
In an announcement, CSS said Tryco would continue manufacturing in New Jersey for three to six months. After that, CSS plans to move all production to its three facilities in Farmington and Southington.
The company said it intends to hire about 15 people to support the Tryco acquisition and has an additional 15 positions posted on its website.
CSS called the acquisition “an excellent fit” as it recently expanded its headquarters to 200,000 square feet, and it has excess capacity.
“The CSS level of customer focus, attention to detail, and production of quality parts will transfer to Tryco customers through a seamless transition,” the company said in a statement.
