Farmington IT advisor adding space, jobs

Innovative Computer Systems Inc., a Farmington information technology and management consulting firm, says a boost in demand for its business intelligence and cloud computing services has prompted it to relocate to bigger quarters and step up hiring.

Innovative Computer. announced Tuesday the move of its headquarters to the Farmington Mountain Office Park on 10 Stanford Dr., where its 25 employees will occupy about 10,000 square feet.

The move will provide the IT consulting firm three times the space it had in its old offices on 497 Main St. and allow the company to add up to eight new employees in the coming months.

Nicholas J. Gentile, ICS’s vice president of sales and marketing, said despite the poor economy, the company saw a 30 percent increase in business in 2010. That was fueled by huge demands for cloud computing and business intelligence services among small-and-medium size businesses.

Steve Roux, ICS’s president, said the new space will also serve as a learning center and data center for the company’s clients, which are mainly in the Northeast.

“We feel extremely fortunate, especially with this difficult economy, to be able to continue to expand,” Roux said. “This move really symbolizes Innovative Computer Systems’ growth phase, where we build upon our solid foundation of clients and become an even more vital partner to the Northeast’s business community.”
