Farmington green fund tops up to $13.4M

A Farmington investment fund that backs renewable energy and conservation projects has raised $13.4 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Clean Feet Investors I LLC, managed by Zahren Financial Co., was founded in 2010 and is associated with some big names in the clean energy industry.

Among its executives is Jigar Shah, founder of SunEdison and co-founder Carbon War Room. Shah co-founded the latter company with Virgin Group Founder Richard Branson.

Project partners listed on Clean Feet’s website include hydroponic greenhouse maker BrightFarms, solar credit aggregator SolSystems, and solar-energy battery system maker Solar Grid Storage, among others.

Zahren Financial is run by Bernard Zahren, who is chairman of the Avon Clean Energy Commission and on the board of the Talcott Mountain Science Center, also in Avon.

Zahren did not immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday morning.
