Farmington Bank taps veteran loan officer

Farmington Bank has named veteran Connecticut banker Michael Romanski as senior commercial loan officer to help run the community lender’s Glastonbury banking office opening in April.

Romanski, who also was named senor vice president, took up his duties immediately at the office at 669 Hebron Ave., Farmington Bank’s first branch east of the Connecticut River.

Romanski has spent more than 30 years as a central Connecticut banker, said Farmington Bank Chairman and CEO John Patrick Jr. Farmington Bank has $1.2 billion in assets and 12 branches.

Previously, he was a commercial bank vice president for NewAlliance Bank, an $8.4 billion-asset lender based in New Haven. Romanski also was an officer at The Savings Bank of Manchester and former Fleet Bank, now part of Bank of America.

He began his career at Connecticut Bank and Trust in retail and consumer banking. Romanski holds an English degree from Eastern Connecticut State University.
