Rapidly expanding Farmington Bank is planning to open its 18th full-service branch, this one at 782 Park Ave. in Bloomfield– its first in that town, a regulatory filing shows.
The bank’s latest 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission did not specify whether it is building a new site or converting an existing structure for its use.
Bank officials did not immediately respond Friday to calls for comment.
But 782 Park Ave. is the same address where Webster Bank announced in November that it was shutting a branch, along with one at 410 Homestead Ave. in Hartford, and consolidating them to a new Webster branch at Bloomfield’s Copaco Shopping Center, 275 Cottage Grove Road.
Within the past year, Farmington Bank has opened full-service branches in Berlin and West Hartford as part of a broad competing strategy among it and other lenders for deposits and loan market share.
