Farmers aims for CT insurance market

Farmers Insurance said it aims to start selling its products in Connecticut next month.

The California-based insurer offers automobile, home and small business insurance. It said regulatory approvals to do business in Connecticut are pending.

Farmers has been expanding on the East Coast since 2011, with offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Maryland and New York.

The company said it will be looking for Farmers agency owners.
