Family Business Hosts Grand Opening

M & R Liquors recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of its newest store located at 206 Buckland Road in South Windsor. M&R Liquors, a family owned company established by “M” Marrion Rounseville and “R” Roy Rounseville, opened its first store in Glastonbury in 1952. By the mid-1970s, the company was operating 14 stores. The operation of the stores was passed along to Roy and Marrion’s two sons, Gary and Neal, who continue to run its daily operations. M&R has also been named “One of America’s 10 Best” by Beverage Dynamics Magazine and honored as the “Market Watch Leader Award” for excellence and leadership in the alcohol beverage retailing industry by Market Watch Magazine.
