A new program geared for working professionals looking to further their business know-how is being launched at Fairfield University’s Fairfield Dolan School of Business.
The new “executive doctorate of business administration” program is geared toward individuals who want to gain knowledge in research methodologies and cutting-edge business issues, according to university officials.
Dean Zhan Li said the program is for working professionals who want to grow their careers or move into a new field related to business.
Fairfield Dolan is ranked in the top 25 for Best Graduate Business Specialty Programs by U.S. News & World Report, and the new program aims “to develop principled leaders for a better world,” according to Li.
Li said the program is ideal for working professionals who want to lead corporate business practices and for consultants, coaches and executives who want to distinguish themselves in their respective fields. It is also geared toward business professionals who are interested in securing a full-time teaching position in business schools.

The three-year, part-time hybrid program offers a flexible schedule with synchronous classes that meet online on weekends and two, in-person weekends that take place at the beginning and at the end of the semester. Fairfield Dolan is now accepting applications for the first cohort, which will start during the summer 2023 term.
Coursework will cover a variety of business topics, such as research methods to solve practical business problems.
Through the Dolan Career Development Center, candidates can also take advantage of professional development opportunities and gain access to Dolan’s alumni network.
