Fairfield University has named Jill Buban vice president, digital strategy and online education, effective April 16. Buban will oversee strategic development, infrastructure and programming, to expand the school’s online and hybrid academic program offerings, with a particular focus on graduate and professional studies.Â
Most recently, Buban was chief academic officer of the Unizin Consortium, overseeing the organization’s research activities, member and partner engagement, and acting as the liaison for Unizin’s teaching and learning committee. Before joining Unizin, Buban served as senior director of research and innovation for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC).
Buban earned a Ph.D. in educational studies with a specialization in adult learning from Lesley University. She holds an MS in curriculum and instruction from the State University of New York/Plattsburg, and a BA in history from the University of New Hampshire.

Fagelson has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel, the preeminent association of U.S. and Canadian lawyers who represent the interests of insurers and policyholders. Fagelson chairs Murtha’s insurance recovery practice group and works primarily on complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage on behalf of policyholders, and appellate practice. Fagelson is also a member of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association and she has held the positions of chair, vice chair and treasurer of the Insurance Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
