Fairfield University has received a record number of applicants for the Class of 2028, school officials announced.
The school received more than 18,500 applicants in 2024, nearly 20% more than the previous year and the most in the university’s history, school officials said.
This increased interest has driven Fairfield’s acceptance rate down to 33%, a decrease from the previous year’s 44.9%, school officials reported.
The average high school weighted GPA of the Class of 2028 stands at 3.96, up from last year’s average of 3.85.Â
Applicants come from 46 states including Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 73 countries.
Fairfield University is a Jesuit Catholic University with more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students
