Last October, Fairfield University was rated the best school in Connecticut for starting salaries. Now it has been ranked the best undergraduate business school in the state.
Bloomberg did a study of the best U.S. undergraduate business schools, ranking Fairfield No. 1 in Connecticut with an overall national ranking of 43rd.The school jumped 15 spots from last year’s rankings.
The other Connecticut business schools on the list were:
- University of Connecticut, 72, with 56.47 points;
- Quinnipiac University, 91, with 46.95 points;
- Scared Heart University, 92, with 46.67 points;
- University of Hartford, 101, with 39.26 points; and,
- U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 104, with 37.03 points.
Bloomberg weighted its rankings this way:
- Employer survey (40 percent of total score): Feedback from recruiters who hire recent business graduates on how well schools prepared students for jobs at their companies.
- Student survey (35 percent): Students’ own ratings of the campus, career services department, and faculty and administrators.
- Starting salary (15 percent): The base compensation of students who had jobs lined up, adjusted for salary variation across industries and regions.
- Internship (10 percent): The percentage of a school’s graduates who had at least one internship at any time during college.
