Fairfield to hold grand opening of Texas campus in June

Fairfield University will be holding a grand opening for its new satellite campus in Austin, Texas at 9 a.m. on June 5.

The Austin campus will be home to Fairfield’s Egan School of Nursing’s 15-month accelerated second-degree baccalaureate nursing (SDNU) program.

As part of a partnership with Baylor Scott & White Health, Ascension Seton and Central Texas Veterans Health Care Systems, students with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree will be able to achieve a bachelor of science in nursing in an accelerated format.

The first cohort of students will be admitted in May with the second round of students beginning in January.

All students who attend the Austin campus will have access to a number of classrooms and simulation labs including an intensive care unit and surgery suite.

Students who complete the SDNU program are eligible to become registered nurses by being able to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam.

The grand opening will introduce the new building and will be open to the public.
