Factory orders inch up

Orders for durable goods from domestic manufacturers climbed 0.6 percent last month, according to the Commerce Department. The modest increase fell short of analyst expectations and reflected weaker orders for big-ticket items like cars and planes. The numbers for March, however, were revised upward to 5 percent from a previously reported 4.3 percent.
