Hartford’s Sparta Insurance Co. has hired veteran underwriter Robert W. Mathis as a vice president to oversee its expansion into liability coverage for lawyers, public officials and other professionals.
Mathis most recently was vice president of program underwriting at Farmington-based Darwin Professional/Allied World.
A Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Mathis has a BA in economics from the University of Vermont.
