Executives eye consulting as a segue to retirement

CFOs are looking to ease their way into retirement, with 75 percent looking to consulting as an attractive transition.

A new Robert Half survey found that three out of four CFOs find the prospect of consulting as they approach retirement somewhat or very attractive. Forty-seven percent of the CFOs surveyed said that one advantage of consulting was the ability to stay in the workforce while working fewer hours.

Another 38 percent citied earning money to supplement retirement as another advantage. And 11 percent were looking forward to gaining experience working for a variety of firms.
