Harris Corp. hired Robert Duffy, a former Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. human resources executive, to oversee human resources for the Florida information technology vendor.
Duffy, 45, who is Harris’ senior vice president of human resources and administration, reports to President and CEO Bill Brown.
He succeeds Jeff Shuman, who is leaving Harris to pursue other opportunities.
Duffy joined UTC in 1998 and most recently served as vice president of human resources for the company’s $7 billion Sikorsky aircraft operation. Previously he served in similar roles within UTC’s Fire and Security, Carrier, Hamilton Sundstrand and Pratt & Whitney operations.
Prior to joining UTC, Duffy held human resource management positions with Royal Dutch Shell and the James River Corp.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Muhlenberg College and a master’s degree in management and technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
