A retired Millstone Power Station worker has withdrawn a complaint he filed last month with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission alleging safety lapses at the Waterford complex, The Associated Press reports.
David Collins told The Day of New London that he withdrew the complaint after learning that Richmond, Va.-based Dominion, the nuclear power complex’s owner, was refusing to rehire laid-off Millstone workers in Virginia until his allegations were addressed.
Dominion spokesman Ken Holt says the allegation isn’t true.
An NRC spokeswoman says the agency will still review the complaint.
Collins says he stands by his claims, which include concerns about staffing cuts in key areas of Millstone.
Millstone officials say safety at the complex is not being compromised by any issue.
