The former top lawyer for Manchester manufacturer Lydall Inc. has turned up as the new general counsel at SS&C Technologies Holdings Inc., where his mergers and acquisitions expertise will be a treasured asset at the Windsor financial software and services vendor, authorities say.
Paul G. Igoe will be SS&C’s senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, succeeding Stephen V.R. Whitman, who is heading into retirement.
Igoe will report to Chairman and CEO Bill Stone following his Jan. 7 start date.
Lydall tersely announced in a regulatory filing Igoe’s Nov. 26 resignation to join a company that it didn’t identify.
Before Lydall, Igoe, 50, was associate general counsel and assistant corporate secretary for Teradyne Inc. where he handled a wide range of legal issues, including securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial law, labor and employment and litigation. Before Teradyne, he was a junior partner at Hale and Dorr (now WilmerHale).
“Paul’s proven track record in merger and acquisitions will add valuable intellectual wealth to our growing team. I am delighted to appoint him to this critical role at SS&C,” Stone said in a statement Monday. “We also wish Steve Whitman all the best as he enters retirement.”
