The former Avon Old Farms Inn has a new owner who is reopening the Farmington Valley banquet-catering landmark with a new name and focus as a wedding/social-event venue.
Belle Terrace at Avon Old Farms is now owned and managed by Riverhouse Properties, owner of The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station in Haddam and The Society Room of Hartford downtown.
Former owner Shawn Daigle abruptly shut the foreclosed inn last September after 17 years in operation.
Riverhouse Managing Partner Jim Bucko said the inn is currently undergoing renovations to its ballroom and companion meeting rooms.
The Belle Terrace can be leased for social events, weddings, corporate functions, and holiday events such as Thanksgiving, Easter, and Mother’s Day. A bridal suite is being constructed as well as changes to the wall décor, window treatments, and carpeting.
The restaurant portion of the property will remain closed.
Bucko did not disclose financial terms of the property deal and renovations.
