Health insurer Connecticare has added two former Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield employees to its senior executive ranks.
Guy Marszalek has joined the Farmington-based company in the newly created position of chief actuary and senior vice president of actuarial and underwriting.
Meanwhile Michelle Zettergren has been named senior vice president and the chief sales and marketing officer at the company, where she will focus on membership growth.
Marszalek has over 25 years of experience leading actuarial and underwriting functions, primarily in Connecticut, where he formerly served in both chief actuary and vice president roles for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Early in his career, Marszalek worked for Inter-County Hospitalization Plan in Pennsylvania and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.Â
Zettergren formerly led sales and marketing efforts at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Connecticut public sector market. In recent years, she has also served as regional vice president of underwriting for Anthem’s large group business.
