Avon electronic health-benefit payment provider Evolution Benefits named veteran insurance industry lawyer Lynda Godkin as its vice president and general counsel.
Godkin, of Granby, remains a senior vice president and general counsel for Evolution’s operating affiliate, Women’s Health USA Inc. Both occupy the same building at 22 Waterville Road and share certain administrative and corporate services.
Godkin joined Women’s Health in 2006, after serving as general counsel at Hartford Life Inc. and previously running state government affairs and community services for parent Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
At EB, she manages the company’s TeacherDollars program that funnels corporate and individual donations into special debit cards that Hartford public school teachers use to purchase educational materials and teaching supplies.
EB uses similar technology to issue and track prepaid employee health benefits cards for its corporate clients.
She also chairs NINA, the community organization in Hartford’s Asylum Hill neighborhood.
A native of Southampton, N.Y., Godkin earned her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. She received her law degree from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield.
