Eversource rings NYSE bell

The Eversource Energy executive team, led by President & CEO Tom May, rang the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning to signal the trading of its newly rebranded stock.

Eversource changed the name of its parent company Northeast Utilities and all of its subsidiaries including Connecticut Light & Power and Yankee Gas to Eversource Energy on Feb. 2.

The company’s stock kept trading under the NU symbol until Thursday, when it switched to the new ES symbol.

Eversource, like Northeast Utilities, remains dually headquartered in Hartford and Boston.
