Despite slumping U.S. home sales and the global recession, Danbury-based furniture retailer Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. said it has opened 13 of its design centers in the U.S. and abroad in the last 10 months.
Ethan Allen’s newest 3,000- to 6,000-square-foot design centers are in Springfield; Lansing, Mich.; and Davenport, Iowa.
Others new locations in the current fiscal year that began last July include four in China, plus another 15 that will debut in the U.S. and abroad by December, said Chairman and CEO Farooq Kathwari. A showroom will open this summer in the Middle East nation of Dubai, he said.
The company said it has 250 design centers in North America.
