An Essex company that pays landowners to place wind farms on their property was acquired Wednesday by a Texas company with similar approach to the green industry.
American Wind Capital Co., based in Sweetwater, Texas, acquired Wind Farm Capital in a deal the Texas firm says generates regional sales representatives and sales opportunities.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Wind Farm Capital pays large sums up front to landowners so they have the capital to construct wind farms on their properties. In exchange, the company collects their variable wind royalty payments.
Wind Farm’s Jeff Keeler and Justin Marron will join American Wind’s executive team as the vice president of business development and the vice president of acquisitions, respectively.
