ESPN’s Berman signs multiyear extension

Chris Berman has signed a multiyear contract extension to stay with Bristol sports programmer ESPN. Terms were not disclosed, The Associated Press reports.

The network said he would remain its host for NFL studio shows.

Berman joined ESPN in October 1979, less than a month after the network launched. He will continue to call baseball’s Home Run Derby and host ESPN’s U.S. Open golf coverage, among other duties.

ESPN is owned by The Walt Disney Co.
