ESPN hires Calhoun as college hoops analyst

Bristol-based sports media giant ESPN said it has hired former UConn men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun as a college basketball analyst.

Calhoun, who won three championships in his 26 years at UConn and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, will make his analyst debut next month during the State Farm Champions Classic doubleheader.
He will appear alongside fellow recent ESPN hire Shane Battier, who retired this year after 13 years playing in the NBA.
