What do you do? I am a litigation attorney with Day Pitney, with a focus on complex business and shareholder litigation. In my practice, I am fortunate to handle a wide variety of cases for corporate and individual clients. In a typical week, I can find myself counseling clients, working with colleagues and appearing in court on cases ranging from First Amendment claims to multi-million dollar contract disputes to trust controversies. Being of service to my clients is extremely fulfilling.

What do you want to be doing in 10 years? I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in 10 years. My colleagues and our clients provide a constant flow of rewarding challenges. I plan to take on greater leadership and mentoring roles over the next 10 years. I want to continue sharpening my skills and hope that current and future clients view me as their trusted counsel for complex litigation matters.

What is your biggest strength? The ability to grasp the big picture. The key to successful litigation is formulating a winning strategy and working tirelessly to achieve it. Individual tasks during the course of a case require intense focus, but one must always be mindful of the big picture strategy for obtaining the best result for the client.

Where do you go for new ideas? I often go to both senior and junior colleagues for new ideas. I have been mentored by incredible legal minds who can apply decade’s worth of experience to unique challenges with ease. At the same time, the newer attorneys at our firm always amaze me with fresh ideas for tackling reoccurring issues.

What is the best advice you received? Learn from others but always be yourself.

What service or charitable cause has your attention? Pro bono work is critical to any good litigator’s practice, in addition to being a professional responsibility. I found a niche representing clients pro bono in cases under the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction. The cases are intensely emotional and require complete dedication to the client’s cause.
