The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency picked Bridgeport and Stamford for technical assistance under the Building Blocks program.
The EPA will provide weekly or bi-weekly workshops tailored to each town’s specific sustainability goals.
The program, which has been completed in 141 communities across the country, looks to encourage and facilitate sustainable local economic growth that safeguards individual health and the environment.
The town’s applications were chosen with 41 others out of 121 applicants this year. Three other New England communities were chosen including; Brattleboro, Vt.; Brunswick, Maine; and Portland, Maine.
