The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency opened a grant program on Wednesday to address quality of life in Connecticut and throughout New England.
The Healthy Communities Grant Program is EPA main program to reduce environmental risks, protect and improve human health and improve overall quality of life in the area.
The EPA will award 10-20 grants ranging from $5,000-$40,000 to New England projects reduce environmental and human health risks, increase community collaboration and achieve measurable benefits.
The deadline to submit a project is May 2. EPA is having informational sessions on the grants starting Wednesday and running through April 26.
