The city of Hartford is opening its garages to free parking Saturday to accommodate visitors to downtown’s Envisionfest celebration of the city’s cultural activities.
Daylong free parking will be available, starting at 9 a.m., at the city’s Church Street, Main-Asylum-Trumbull (MAT), and Morgan Street garages, and the Hartford Public Library parking deck, the Hartford Parking Authority announced Thursday.
On-street parking downtown is already free on weekends.
As part of Envisionfest, HPA parking ambassadors will host a tent at downtown’s Burr Mall on Main Street to demonstrate the use of the city’s pay-and-display parking meters.
They also will be handing out parking tips cards and offering visitors a chance to win a $50
Downtown Hartford Park, Shop and Dine Gift Card.
