A commercial developer is looking to re-subdivide a mostly vacant parcel of land in Enfield for future projects.
Torrington-based Garrett Homes LLC and principal Gary Eucalitto will split the parcel known as 161 Post Office Road to create a new 2.36-acre space along the northwest corner of the property. The new parcel will still be located in the business district.
Currently, the lot totals 12.7 acres of grassy or wooded area, with a one-story garage at the intersection of Raffia and Post Office Roads.
“The resubdivision will create a new lot suitable for commercial development,” the application reads. “Future development of the lot will likely create jobs and generate revenue for the town of Enfield.”
This application was approved by the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency.
In 2005, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a previous subdivision request that split the original parcel into two pieces – the 12.7-acre space and a piece less than half an acre where Four Corners Package Store was built.
Garrett Homes builds commercial developments throughout Connecticut. Garrett officials could not be reached for comment on plans for the new parcel.
The proposed new parcel won’t contain any wetland resource areas. There are no planned improvements in the Inland Wetland application, and any planned work or site plan application would need Planning and Zoning approval.
