Enfield solar manufacturer STR Holdings, which earlier this week announced a pending $19 million move of headquarters to East Windsor, has named two former energy-company chief executives to its board of directors.
Robert M. Chiste is the former chairman, president and CEO of Comverge Inc., which helps regional power grids with demand management. Chiste is an executive in residence with the Silicon Valley venture capital firm El Dorado Ventures.
Uwe Krueger is the former CEO of the Oerlikon Group, a $4 billion company that includes a solar division. Krueger is president of Cleantech Switzerland, a Swiss export platform that provides sustainability support to companies on behalf of the Swiss government.
STR Holdings announced on Tuesday the pending closing of its Enfield and Somers manufacturing locations so it can relocate to a 275,000-square-foot in East Windsor.
The company also will relocate its Enfield headquarters as part of the move, which will take 15 to 18 months.
The new headquarters will be on King Street while the old Water Street location in Enfield will be used for a quality assurance office.
