Enfield transportation services provider Control Module Industries has completed the installation of the first two electric vehicle charging stations at Connecticut restaurants.
Figaro Ristorante in Enfield and Painted Pony Restaurant in Bethlehem each installed a curbside charger CMI specifically designed for parking lots, featuring a retractable cable.
Ernesto Nolasco, owner of Figaro, said the charging station is another service he can provide his customers, as they can charge their cars as they eat their meals.
There are roughly 70 electric vehicles registered in Connecticut, mostly the Tesla Roadster and the Chevrolet Volt. Aside from people charging at home, the state has 15 charging stations at various public-accessible locations.
