A Thai-Asian restaurant will soon occupy the former location of a popular Indian restaurant that is just off Interstate 95 in Fairfield.
Chun Yiu Kwok, of Easton, doing business as 17 Southport LLC, has purchased the one-story, 3,147-square-foot building, at 13 Pease Ave., for $1.16 million, town records show.
Kwok said he will lease 1,900 square feet in the building to Jeff Lin, owner of Eat Noodle & Rice, a restaurant at 269 Fairfield Ave., in Bridgeport. He said Lin plans to open in a few months a Thai-Asian restaurant called Pattaya Wok at the Fairfield property.
Kwok, who owns Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake in Westport, said he plans to open a coffee shop in the remaining 1,247 square feet of space, but he hasn’t found a tenant yet who will run such an establishment.
The building, which was built in 1956, was previously home to Indian restaurant Coromandel. The seller was D&W Enterprises LLC, which is controlled by Gail Hogan and the estate of Edmund W. Dougiel.
It is appraised at $1 million and assessed at $730,010, property records show.
