EMCOR unit wins Canadian water-treatment job

The Comstock Canada subsidiary of EMCOR Corp. in Norwalk has received a contract to replace de-chlorination equipment at a wastewater treatment plant for the city of Toronto.

Comstock Canada, based in Hamilton, Ontario, is general contractor and will do all electrical and mechanical construction at Toronto’s second largest plant for treating wastewater discharged into Lake Ontario. Contract value was not disclosed.

The project is mandated by the Canadian environmental regulators and will be completed by April 30, 2010.

Work will include modifying the existing chlorine workshop to house new chemical feed pumps and a chlorination/de-chlorination pilot plant simulator system.

Additional work will include installation of a new sampling pump station. Comstock will also upgrade the plant’s power distribution system, lighting, and instrumentation.
