Norwalk industrial contractor Emcor Group Inc. has bought Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. of Raleigh, N.C., for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1962, Southern had 2011 estimated revenues of about $90 million and a backlog of about $36 million.
Its specialty is installing, moving and rigging plant equipment and machinery for major manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical, power and chemical customers.
It also has operations in Charlotte, N.C.; Columbia, S.C.; and Wilmington, Del.
