The U.S. Navy has awarded a $44.5 million contract modification to Groton submarine maker Electric Boat, parent company General Dynamics announced.
Under the contract, EB will perform non-nuclear maintenance work on subs at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. The work, which will require approximately 270 employees, includes overhaul, repair and modernization services, the company said.
The modification is for a 2012 contract with a potential value of $222.3 million over five years.
