Eight Cantor Colburn attorneys named IP stars

Eight Cantor Colburn attorneys were selected as Intellectual Property Stars in the 2014 World IP Survey by Managing Intellectual Property.

The IP Stars rankings identified the best law firms in the U.S. and recognized Cantor Colburn as a “highly recommended” intellectual property law firm.

In Cantor Colburn’s Hartford office, co-managing partners Michael Cantor and Philmore Colburn were listed as top stars. Lawyers William Cass, Pamela Curbelo, David Fox, George Pelletier, and Leah Reimer were also recognized.

UConn surgeon named president of national sports medicine org.

UConn Health Center orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Robert Arciero, has been named president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Arciero specializes in sports medicine and has focused his 27-year career treating soft tissue and joint injuries involving the shoulder and knee.

Arciero has spent the past 14 years at UConn Health as an orthopaedics professor, director of the Orthopaedic Sports Fellowship Program, and team physician to the UConn Huskies.

The AOSSM is a world leader in sports medicine education, research, communication, and fellowship, and includes national and international orthopaedic sports medicine leaders.

Middlesex Comm. College named 2014 Great College to Work For

Middlesex Community College was recently named a “2014 Great College to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education for the third year in a row.

The results are based on a survey of more than 43,000 employees at 278 colleges and universities. In all, only 92 of the 278 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.

Middlesex Community College is the only community college in the state to receive this recognition.

Wright-Pierce ranks among top 25 wastewater firms nationwide

Wright-Pierce, an engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, stormwater, and infrastructure services, was recently ranked by Engineering News Record as one of the country’s top 25 engineering firms in the wastewater treatment plant design sector, and in the sanitary and storm sewer sector.

Wright-Pierce, which has a Middletown office, also ranked in the top 50 in the sewerage and solid waste sector.
