The Capitol Groove music festival will take place on June 28 and 29 at Bushnell Park in downtown Hartford.
The event, produced by GoodWorks Entertainment, is sponsored by multistate cannabis operator Shangri-La Dispensaries, joined by cannabis brands Soundview and Asteroid by Borealis Cannabis.
The concert is headlined by musical artists Khruangbin, Bleachers and CAKE.
California-based alternative rock band CAKE emerged in the early 1990s and is known for hits “Short Skirt/Long Jacket,” “The Distance,” and a cover of “I Will Survive,” first popularized by Gloria Gaynor in 1978.
Psychedelic rock trio Khruangbin was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2024. The Texas-based group is known for its blend of Thai rock and funk from the 1960s and 1970s, and other global influences, including Iranian pop, according to AllMusic.
New Jersey-based indie-pop band Bleachers is known for its debut single, “I Wanna Get Better,” which was released in 2014. Frontman Jack Antonoff is an 11-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, musician and producer.
The event will also feature performances by Thundercat, Sammy Rae & The Friends, Thee Sacred Souls, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Fantastic Negrito, Steel Pulse, Ripe, Improvement Movement, Ghost Funk Orchestra, The Greeting Committee and Spectre Jones.
