Eastern Connecticut Health Network has agreed to a new multi-year agreement with UnitedHealthcare on a new provider contract, ending a several month’s long stalemate that left some patients paying higher rates for medical care.
ECHN, which is the parent to Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals, said it has signed a new two-year pact with UnitedHealthcare/Oxford Health Plans commercial insurance plans.
The new agreement will allow patients with United or Oxford commercial insurance to pay regular in-network rates if they seek treatment at an ECHN hospital.
The previous contract between both parties expired Oct. 15, forcing Oxford customers to pay higher out-of-network rates at Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals.
