Defense contractor General Dynamics Corp., parent of Groton submarine builder Electric Boat, named Mary T. Barra, General Motors Co.’s senior vice president of global product development, to its board of directors, The Associated Press reports.
Barra, 49, will join the board effective March 15. Barra leads the design, engineering, program management and quality of vehicles for GM’s 11 brands around the world, and is a member of the automaker’s executive committee.
