East Windsor-based Infoshred has acquired Secure Eco Shred, a document-shredding and hard drive destruction service headquartered in Brookfield.
Infoshred says the deal will increase its existing footprint in Connecticut and New York, with the combined company headquartered at Infoshred’s East Windsor facility. Infoshred also offers services in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Infoshred was established in 1993 as a division of Recyclers LLC, a South Windsor recycling business. In 1997 it was purchased and organized as a standalone business by its first employee, Stacey Lombardo, who still heads up the company as president. Infoshred provides total life cycle management, from storage to destruction, for paper documents, electronics, and faulty, outdated, or recalled products.
Its 50,000-square-foot secure archive center provides a controlled environment for long- or short-term storage of customer records.
Secure Eco Shred was founded by Mike Smith, along with his wife Elaine, in 2004. He will aid in the transition of Eco Shred’s current customers to the combined business.
