The town of East Hartford is offering a program to help small businesses that have been affected by COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Small Business Assistance Program provides financial grants, reimbursements or in-kind services to help businesses deal with adverse impacts of the pandemic.
The program is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and is administered by the East Hartford Development Office, with assistance from the Connecticut River Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Businesses may use the grants to hire new employees, expand a building, purchase new equipment or make facade improvements.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Businesses must be located in East Hartford, or intend to relocate there;
- Businesses must be currently open, and must have been in operation since Jan. 1, 2019;
- Businesses must be in good standing with the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services;
- Priority will be given to certified minority/women-owned businesses, certified small business enterprises and veteran-owned businesses.
